AAACERT volunteers played a key role in a mass‑casualty training exercise at Baltimore‑Washington Medical Center (BWMC) in Glen Burnie, helping hospital staff sharpen their emergency response capabilities. Members arrived early to take on the roles of injured patients, complete with realistic moulage and scenario‑based symptoms designed to test triage and treatment procedures under pressure.
By acting out chaotic, unpredictable situations, AAACERT volunteers added authenticity that can’t be replicated by classroom training alone.
These drills rely on volunteers who can adapt quickly, stay in character, and bring realism to the scenario. AAACERT members delivered exactly that, helping strengthen BWMC’s preparedness and ensuring the community is better equipped for real‑world emergencies.
